I am building a K2 and on the RF board there is diode D10. It's listed as 95SQ015. I cannot find this diode in the RF bags. I do find SR1503 which has the large black body that I'm to be looking for. D12 I found. Do I use SR1503 or am I missing D10? Mark W8EWH

Aaron, HiCur messages are a symptom, but not the "disease". It can mean that you might have a bad connection in your antenna system or something similar. Test into a dummy load to tell if it is a K2 problem or an antenna problem. If it works into a dummy load, then the antenna is the problem.

Jerry, Set the CAL CUR to 3.50 Amps - I know the manual says 2.50 Amps, but many K2s will develop more than 15 watts and that requires more than 2.50 amps when the power control is set to full right. I do not recommend operating that way, limit the power setting to 12 watts or less. Being a

Gang: Just curious ! How high have did you set your current limit ??? My K2 has every option available ( 10 watts ) and I'm running my Graph set to BAR with back lighting on. Just got a new power meter and noted my actual output is about half what I'm setting it with power control.

Hi gang: One other question to insure I am not setting myself up for disappointment. :-) When you use CAL CUR to set the current limit, is there a limit to how high one can go without jeopardizing the rig?? My K2 has the KSB2, KDSP2, KNB2, KAT2, KBT2, KIO2K160RX installed.

Jerry, The KSB2 Adapter operating instructions (page 22) indicate that CAL CUR should be set to a maximum of 3.5 amps. Mine is set to 3.5 amps and under some conditions I get an HI CUR using a Heil ICM microphone. I use the lower mic gain setting and the K2 seems to work very well. Robie - AJ4F

I am sorting out my K2/100 which had an unhappy experience with a thunderstorm in 5x two weeks ago. Thanks for helpful comments. Almost there but I am doing the power calibration. I adjust R26 to get the K2 and my power meter reading the same. All goes OK until I get to about 10W when

When keying up my K2 in SSB at 10 watts I get a momentary flash of high current. Is this a sign of a problem? Seems like there is a setting in the menu in regards to this, but want to be sure before I do anything. The transmit is fine, just the momentary flash of high current. Thanks!

Ken, That may or may not be an indication of a problem. Check the CAL CUR setting first - with the QRP K2 it should be set to 2.50 or higher - if you have the KPA100 it must be set to 3.50 or higher. Due to the way the K2 power is controlled, a low power source voltage will cause a Hi Cur

My K2 S/N 5163 goes in to current limit at about 7 watts or so on 40M. I set the limit to 3.5A, so something is not right. The voltage drops about 1V from 13.5 to 12.5 as well using the K2 meter. I have a 25 amp PS, and increase the wire size with no real change. The other bands go in to limit as
