That is something you have to decide. You can judge the changes from
the release notes for the Beta relaease and decide if it is important to
you.

OPEN
FTP SITE IN WINDOWS EXPLORER. Then k3fw2r10.zip was listed. All is
okay
Well I have to say this implementation of NR for me is the best yet!
I listen to weak CW almost exclusively and it works really well.
Gone is the big reduction in audio when engaging NR and the CW signal really
pops out of the noise.

Well, that was quick! Thank you Lyle, Ken, and Ron. Now that you've
explained it to me, it really does make sense ... keep beta FW and
real FW separate. Off to the laptop to follow the instructions. That
often works, I've found.

have been nice if rotating VFO A not only displayed the frequency stored
but instantly assigned it to a VFO so the K3 could be used in the same
manner as a crystal controlled transceiver (without having to press M-V

Hi all,
problem described below is now fixed. Tnx to Wayne for the support by
email! I loaded the newest beta without any problems. Did some tests
yesterday evening. VOX works again. Everything I use seems to be fine. I
guess I had some problems during the update which wasn't successful. I
are linked I'd like to see them both change then the
RIT control is setup to do coarse tuning. Wonder if
anyone can think of a reason why that would not be an
advantage?

I loaded rev 1.94 yesterday evening. My main problem is the not working
VOX in 1.88. However it was more worse than with 1.88! Once set to VOX I
couldn't set it back to PTT. It switched the whole time to TX, no matter
what MIC gain settings I choosed. (Oh, I didn't tried the VOX gain, it

There is another way to solve the CW spot problem.
It's called get on the air and work CW. You will quickly develop the skill
of zero beating by ear.
You will find that most CW ops don't use any zero beating gizmo. Much
faster and easier to do it by ear.
Another thing. Narrow filter
On many TCVRs - if you are not in QSK mode - you can just press key
and hear pitch tone (sidetone) and tune signal to zero beat.
This is one reason I was opening KEY OUT port settings wish - to have
sidetone only without keying to TX by pressing key (in nonQSK), but it
is another story ;-)

When tuning by ear using a wide bandwidth filter, I have found that it
is easier if you go from the low tone side to high instead of high to
low. I think the higher octave(s) can sometimes confuse you when you
go from high to low.

versions included FTP capability. But I use Firefox. I've found that
