Does anybody has the recipe to make Entrance work?
I installed from dunnewind, did a "sudo dpkg-reconfigure entrance" and
selected "Entrance".
When I restart the machine, Entrance starts in full glory, and after the
login, all I got is a black screen. Nothing. No GNOME, no Enlightenment, no

Has anyone tried it? And why was it dropped? I'd love to have even login

experience with e and entrance themes, but I have a couple of questions
about Entrance's capabilities I have yet to use.

I do not use it nor have I tried it. But it is worth mentioning William
Thomson did some work on trying to make it functional again.

with no luck. Has anyone had anyluck getting kde, gnome, enlightenment,
blackbox, etc to start in SuSE without having to change that file

I can only guess, but maybe you insert /usr/bin/entrance (or where else is
entrance installed) in the file: /etc/X11/default-display-manager
I have searched on thy fedora board but did not found anything, sry.

if the nfs export is set to root-squash, entrance does not succeed in
creating the
authentication file (.Xauthority).
i guess the problem is it does not set it's uid at the appropriate time,

close e17 I have some errors from init saying the boot is too fast and a
session of entrance is run.

help with other people who run the entrance --test as their normal
user. You guys need to run this as root so the pam authentication will

can run it from the terminal and it works. lists out gnome, kde,
default terminal, enlightenment etc.. but at a reboot, gdm still
takes over.

Just been messing around with Fedora 3 and Entrance. Can anyone here
confirm they've got it up and going from cvs?

Display Manager. That's easy enough to do.
Mandriva uses the dm.d service to manage WMs.

gdb> bt -- says there's no stack
I want to say again that I have issue when I lau
-t isn't an option for gdb but for entrance. the option for gdb is --args.
so just type in your term
'gdb entrance --args entrance -t'

Hi,
finally gdb has said something..
but I typed
bash>gdb entrance
gdb>run -t
gdb>bt
perhaps I have some bash settings wrong
however the output is:
(gdb) bt
#0 0x76592823 in __select_nocancel () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#1 0x77547a21 in _ecore_main_select (timeout=) at ecore_main
Fixed now :)

Hi Michael,
I'm very sorry to bore you again but r77339 doesn't work too.
My problem are the log files which when I exit from e17 are not deleted.
If I delete them before exit from e17 all works and if I start entrance
from bash too ;I do not understand what changes to the presence of the log
files
