inside the lens? Is the lens repair still possible? I am sure the lens went down due
hard weather shaking we faced in our 6,4 metre boat in 7 beaufort wind...my 1V HS
still works like new though.

rent. I'm switching to digital during this year, probably to D60 or to the new model
introduced in the PMA 2003. 1Ds is at the moment a bit too expensive altough I find it
perfect body for me. I'v decided to keep my 1VHS as a spare film-body fo
nt shooting and then, at the critical moment, fail to use it. Just rent a
familiar film body (I suppose you have shot with EOS before) and that's it.

Go for EF 28-135 IS. It's good and affordable, about the same price as Sigma 28-70
f2.8. Quality when stepped down is also near EF f2.8 zoom level. Of course the lens is

Just 2 years ago we "all-analog EOSers" waited D30 to appear to dealers. Now, 1Ds is
in the same situation. Think 2 years onwards and there's completely new cameras coming

to my PC. I now checked my setting, they were wrong and I
changed them back. Then I closed EOS-Remote -software checked them again: everything
was fine. Still, I am sure my 1V find those wrong settings again some day in near
future and I am again ruining film during a hectic shooting.

I sometimes feel vibrations caused by IS. I am not sure if the 1V is the only stiff
enough body to notice IS vibrations, but at least in my configuration even with PB-E2
attached the vibrations are transmitted from lens to my hand.

28-80s does not have this kind of like motor, so there is no Full-Time Manual focus
either. With F-TM you just turn the focusing ring when you want, there's no switch for

y 28-135 IS 1,5 year ago I had this similar problem in choosing between
28-70 2.8 and my current lens which has worked very fine, but should I now go to
cheaper choice again, that's the problem.

detail. And EOS 30 is pretty unfamiliar for me. I
am specially interested, because I would like to use my 28-135 and change the body
within couple of months to a model that can make fast series of shoots with that. I
photo mainly fast and moving object (boats), so this detail is important
