Also - you need to check 'only show subscribed folders' in the account
configuration under receiving options. Otherwise the server doesn't
show up in the dropdown.

Just use a username of 'user'?

Whatever's going on, this belongs on the evolution users list.
Anyway you still need to subscribe. The option toggles between restarts
if you dont, because the 'force subscribe to inbox even though the user
hasn't done it' code runs at the wrong time, and it gets remembered
every second start.

What a relief! Alright, I'll submit a bug on the hanging problem.
As for IMAP speed, I'm still not sure how to test 1.08 v.s. 1.20 on the
amount/number of times it spends downloading headers. I've got Redhat
8.0 installed with RPM's halfways to Ximian Gnome and, although I don't
have much experi
Mioght be good to get a tcpdump of each of evolution 1.0.8 and 1.2.0 -
it might provide clues as to what it is actually fetching - because
afaik, it shouldn't be fetching headers *again*.
Do you have body searches in your vfolders or something maybe?

OK, I'll try to figure out how to get at tcpdump -- it's not as simple
as typing tcpdump > tmp.file, is it?
I don't think I'm using any vfolders at all but maybe something got
turned on when I upgraded to 1.20. I'll have to check this tomorrow
morning, when I'm back at the computer that has 1.2
It is trivial to download the archives and import them into a folder to
use evolution to search them, I think drag&drop might even work. The
archives are linked to from the url given at the bottom of every
message.

I'm also a UW-IMAP user and was following this thread closely as i was
also rather disappointed with evo 1.2 speed...
When u mentioned vFolders, i suddenly remembered that about the time I
upgraded to 1.2 I also "experimented" with setting some vfolders to
point to IMAP sources (for fun, i didn't

I just noticed that 1.2 had installed two 'default' vfolders. I don't
remember their names but I believe they
