I'm looking for a concise explanation of when/how the transaction logs are
committed. Specifically, is there another way to force logs to be committed
other than the backup or stopping the IS? (E2K3)

I didn't see anything stuck in any of the message queues.
Msg limits - global: 100 MB; connector: no allowed sizes limit; SMTP

There must be a way to pinpoint the source of the traffic, right? Turn up
some logging? I'm looking for it, but would appreciate advice from someone

doesn't really understand why all the anti-ArcServe feeling: I've not
had major problems with it and get consistently good backups from which I
can restore files, Exchange servers, SQL databases, PDCs etc
It's their support, IMHO. ARCserve worked fine for me, too, as recently as
6.61. Back when
to me like reverse DNS lookup to block spam would need to be
done on some SMTP forwarding app or gateway outside Exchange.
I probably don't understand this issue well enough, but I too would like to
block spam, and am reluctant to get into 3rd-party filtering SW.
