What version of MDK are you using? There's a bug in MDK6 that causes this
problem. To solve it, you have to download some files (mainly the init
scripts) or use the update tool.

I am having the same card, using Mandrake 6.0. I had problem with the card
when I installed it. I downloaded the driver source from Linksys and
compiled as module and everything worked. I am not sure what is the problem
but I made it work.
Hope this helps.

Actually, you were correct, I merely misunderstood. The 100x30 option was
number 9, and I put in a hex 9 (0x0009). But when you use ask and then the
scan process, it does list a hex for the mode. I put that in (0x0122) and
now it works...
THANX!! sorry for the misunderstanding too...

Ok, I have to run, but when I get back I will reload my orginal fstab, reboot
and run these tests to see what happens. I am really wondering why I have
to recreate fstab to get it to shutdown right. Besides, I did like the auto

> Ok I need your indulgence for a few
I updated fstab to the same one I used on Caldera before I switched to
Mandrake. It seems to me, Mandrake was locking some empty disks (floppy, zip
and CD-ROM). Now I have to use an manual mount every disk change, but it
reboots without a problem.
Thanks for all the advice.

Well, I've found a simple solution to both lilo problems - from RedHat, the
Mandrake kernel is at /mnt/mandrake/boot/vmlinuz, and from Mandrake,
the Red Hat kernel is at /mnt/redhat/boot/vmlinuz-2.2.14-5.0
Lilo now works from either install, so only problem 1 (see original post)
remains.

The behavior about which you are complaining is not compliant with
normal Unix behavior, but I've verified it: A normal user can't chown a
