In using DrakConf, I noticed that although my video card (Matrox Millenium)
has 4 MB of video ram, the config has it set as only 2 MB. I would like to
correct this error but can find nowhere in DrakConf utilities to do so. How
is this done?

I've got a Conceptronic CON100TC Ethernet Pcmcia card, and i've got a
driver for it.
The problem i have is that Mandrake 7.2 recognizes it as a Realtek 8139
Pc Card, and it's always trying to charge rtl8139.o or 8139too.o
(realtek_cb.o has already been charged).

The linux vfat drivers are horribly slow. That's probably your problem.

Well 7.2 here supports both ATA100 & ATA66 here very well without any

Hey if you want to do it I can not help you!
But before that why don't you try both IDE drives on the same controller (master/slave scheme)
I believe you have too much SW overhead using 2 controllers

Ok here's how it works. You'll need the .config file from the Mandrake install you
have. I forget offhand what dir it is in but I belevie it is /usr/src/linux. Copy
that file to the new source tree and the type make oldconfig. The new kernel will
only prompt you for items tht are new to the

grab the config files out of that (forget where they are)

message, it looks like the glx module isn't being loaded when X starts.
First, you need to load the kernel module tdfx (requires the agpgart module

There are two possibilities:
1. In /etc/cups/cupsd.conf there is a "FontPath" variable, try to enter
directories there with the fonts you need. I don't know whether this
helps, it is possible that the CUPS renderer (which is written to work
under nearly every Unix) does not support TrueType fonts
Well I did a re-install and it looks like the USB hub on these
motherboards (ASUS CUSL2) causes the issues. I had to manually config
it fo rmy mouse and then my install kept hanging. So I put my
Intellimouse Exolporer on the PS/2 port and all is well so far. Now to
install the nvidia driver
