Dear Alex and friends:
Thanks so very kindly for your help. I was able to solve the USB Zip
configuration problem on my LM72 with your instructions. Some of it was
relevant, some not. But without your instructions I could not have done

I think the problem might be with nmbd. Here is the error its reporting.
Its reporting an error with the domain master browser name. I dont know what this is.
Any help would be great.

I've got it all working now. Thanks for the info. I am now visable to the

This last was the main thing I was fighting with all this for. As for the

I tinkered here and there with /etc/atalk/afpd.conf, atalk.conf, config and
got appletalk working on my system. My computer now shows up in the chooser

You can remap the uid's through NIS, but that seems to be really a big
pain. It is much easier to ensure that the NIS users use a different
uid range than the system accounts. On most systems system accounts use
uids below 100 (and more recently below 500). On mandrake on the other

Nope, no chance!
About 7 times out of 10 I find the answer buried in a file somewhere in
/var/log/samba. Try accessing the Mandrake box again and look for which
file(s) change, then tail those files and see what they say. Samba is
pretty good about telling you what happened if you know where it logs
to. Als
Unless you have a HP-UX emulator, not a chance.
Unless someone else can verify? HP-UX is very processor specific and
likes to run on HP hardware only. PA architecture to be specific.
