Well, I'm hosed. It seems the HP 215 and 315 were *mistakenly* added to

May I make a reply to my own question regarding: CONFIG_INET_ECN=y ?
I found the following by using google. Maybe Mandrake should consider
turning this option off as the average user will not know what is going on.
And, furthermore, nobody seemed to know on yhis list either.

Hello,
It seems that most all the RPMs coming out now are made with the version 4 RPM, which
doesn't work on Mandrake 7.x distros.. Is there a way to install the new RPM on the
older machines?
Also, I notice that the Digest reply-to address is -STILL- wrong, months after I first

I've seen HowTo on copying install from old HD to new HD, but not one
for motherboard replacement. Hardware HowTo doesn't seem to cover it
either. Does a standard install customize the kernel specifically to
motherboard hardware?

to non-destructively resize ext2 partitions with the stipulation that the

Ok, you have /boot/vmlinuz as the image for both kernels. You should
have the two different images listed separately.
Try putting a different image e.g.

where /boot/vmlinuz-new is a link to your new kernel image.

I do not believe it is possible to non-destructively resize an ext2
partition. For this I generally tar and bzip2 the partition that I will be
resizing and save the tar.bz2 file to another partition that has the
temporary space to allow this - or I copy it to a zip drive or burn it into a
