I just upgraded the xfce that came with my Mandrake 7.2 to the latest
version and installed it successfully.
However, since the upgrade, xfce no longer appears among the list of
drop-down choices in the graphic login. It used to be there. How do I add
it back to the options?

o longer remember how I changed the localhost name or what the original
default was (localhost or localhost.localhost). I do recall that Drakeconf
accepted the change but did not implement it and I had to change an ascii
config file somewhere.
Anyone able to help me out of this muddle I got my
-drivers-1.0-19mdk.i586.rpm
Which are the prms I should download and try? I would rather stick to
stable versions.

You can purchase a USB interface card, made those motherboards without
onboard USB ports. They are quite inexpensive these days.
I have not looked into that option. Thought it had to be part of the

because it really runs in DOS and not really under linux. That is why I
wonder if there is a similar utility that actually runs under linux to

Happens when I restart from Linux (Mandrake 7.2) too. This does not happen
with Turbolinux. Looks like it is Mandrake linux that is not clearing out
the memory when it starts the boot-up.

I am trying to learn gimp. Even though I am on a Pentium Pro 200 with 84MB
ram, using gimp is so slow it is not of practical use. Cutting an area etc
takes about 6-7 seconds to occur.

An aside: before installing Mandrake 7.1, I had Turbo Linux 6 and did not
have that problem with it (many others though!). So it must have had
something in its boot process that cleared the memory first.

I found that you have to type imwheel -k from a command line and if that
works add that to your autostart folder.
