If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate hearing them. As well as any
other Graphic design/web based programs that would be helpful in swaying

Unfortunately, I don't do much graphics work, so I'm not too familiar with
what is available.

I've been running ReiserFS eversince mandrake 7.2 first came out, and I
have to say taht I've had no problems. After a dirty shutdown or a power
failure, everything swings back up with no worries. I haven't seen any
data corruption or loss of data.
Currently I run it on 3 4.3 GB SCSI drives, 1
Hey all,

Hi all,
Currently I'm running two good machines, one for windows, and one for
Linux which acts as my server.
However, I'm picking up a new dual P3 motherboard and two 750 chips on
monday, and was thinking, since I'm doing mostly C++ work it might be a
better idea to just put Linux on that (orig
Hey all,
I'm considering playing around a little with VPNs and was wondering if
there was any tips or tricks anyone could provide me with.

Hey guys,
I'm seeing some strange behaviour from my Linux server at the moment...
I'm using it as a server for internet, files, and apache is bound to my
internal interfaces (ports closed to the outside world for that).
Anyways, it seems that squid is running away. Just out of the blue I

You erase them.
If you can't find the erase option in adaptec's software, then review the
help file that came with it. It's not one of the friendlier software
packages out there.

Yes.
That was my exact problem. That was why my internet connection wasn't
working correctly when I tried to connect through my lan.
Thanks.

No, these depend on a currently non existent AMD 760MP chipset. This is
due out sometime within the next two quarters.
Currently, there are no options for dual processor AMD systems. These are
expected to be out before Intel can figure out how to get their P4 to run
in SMP mode though.
Thanks
select the option enable chord-middle (or something very similar) in your
XF86Config-4 file. That was the only way I scould use my scroll wheel,
but now it works flawlessly.
You'll just need to uncomment the chordmiddle option, and restart X

Oddly enough, I had the opposite problem
As soon as I put 8.0 on, I could no longer access the internet through my

I tried running Mandrake 8.0b2 on one computer, while I left my good Linux
computer running 7.2 (which it is running flawlessly right now). 8.0 can

Hi folks.
I've been trying to compile different kernels into Mandrake 7.2, but have
never been successful., I was able to compile a new kernel on a redhat
box, but not a mandrake one. Since Mandrake is my primary choice for a
linux distribution, I'd like to stick with it.
Right now, I'm runnin
The one thing that I'm noticing throughout this particular discussion is
that everyone is blaming Mandrake and not looking at the fact that the
K6-2 and K6-3 are actually i586 chips.
How can Mandrake make their distribution recognize the K6 series as i686
chips when they will just cough and sput
Hi,
Did you have any problems with the drivers for the matrox dual head?
I'm currently looking into swapping my matrox G450 into my Linux machine
for the multiple monitor support, and would like to gather as much
information as possible.
Thanks

Sirs,
I am currently planning out a machine to be used when Mandrake 8.0 appears
in full. In addition to the standard SCSI drives I will be using, I want
to toss in two IDE 20 GB drives in a mirrored RAID.
Basically, what I want to know is does Linux support a software RAID? If
so, how do I
