I am so sorry I called your kitty Brandy instead of Bandy. Does he have any side effects with the interferon? I tried a dose of interferon on Monday with Smokey but he got a fever and quit eating so I haven't given him anymore. I didn't know if it could be the interferon or just his fever coming

Your Brandy's fever sounds like how Smokey is doing. I took him to his new vet yesterday his temp. was 105. It has gotten as high as 107 before. She gave him fluids under the skin, vitamin injection, anti-inflammatory/steroid injection and immuno-regulin injection. She wants to give him the imm

Sorry your Smokey is positive. My Effie was 3 months old when I found her behind a gas station dumped in the bushes .. she tested positive. During the first few months she had periodic fevers but seemed to "outgrow" them. Oddly, stress would bring on her fever, too. She delighted us for 3-1/2

IMHO, that's an on interpretation, an infection is indicated by a HIGH white blood cell count, not a low one.  I don't have any experience with anemia or otherwise unexplained fevers, but I know that at least one other person here does, so hopefully s/he'll pop up soon w/some advice!cindy reasoner

Hi I used it a couple of years ago on my fiv cat. She was anemic and found it helped alot. But she was so far gone by the time I used it she had the side effects of the ill feelings but within a few hours she was like a new cat for a day. There are different protocols. One is 3x a week then

Why does your vet say that there's an infection somewhere?  Does the bloodwork indicate it?  I know that there have been a few people on-list who have had FeLV+ kitties with unexplained/idiopathic fevers.  How very frustrating for you and your family!  Am sending strength and calm for all of you.Ba
