Darcy,
I have also had this happen recently, but in 2003 under OS9.
I had 2 files open and had left the computer for a couple of hours,
returned, hit cmd-Q to quit and hit return on the save dialogue assuming
it would be correctly attributed. Next day I discovered one file had

Anyone else had problems with spaces disappearing between words in text

The culprit font is the Golden Age text and title fonts, althought the
actual music font is fine. Any file I open containing this font has all

Well, I now have Sibelius v.3.1.1 and have finally got to use it
directly alongside Finale in professional work for a few weeks. This
includes having both application windows open and working directly from
one app. to the other on related pieces of music e.g. a full score (in
Sib.) and the redu
vious measures unless it has
to scroll them left. This occurs in scroll mode as well as page mode.
Is there any way to explain such a godawful performance or speed it up?

Crystal,
It sounds to me as if the keyboard maybe stuck and is giving out a midi

hink the change tuplet dialogue is a very powerful tool, it takes a minute *tops* to initiate (or type in) and can bring a huge score around to your personal settings, a good deal if you consider the alternative.

O.K. for David, Mark & Joel (+ any lurkers) here goes.
Remember this his a list from a little way back (actually, I did post it
on the list) and so some things might have been improved since then, but
then Sibelius would never admit there were faults or problems in the
first place. You'd get a

situations where the spacing doesn't seem to want to
work any longer. It usually ignores accidentals. I've tried all sorts to
get around it but had no success as yet. I'd be interested to know if
anyone has?

Finale comes with tutorials on the CD, video tips are also included. Try working through all of these before embarking on any extra courses, you'll save time and money.
There is no 'easy path', Finale is a complex application and although you can be up and running with most simple projects in a f
A technique I use is to highlight the measure with the Mass Mover in scroll view, it is then easy(ier) to locate as you switch to page view.
In finale it appears that the most L.H. measures on screen while in scroll view relate to the measures that will come up when you go to page view. Therefore
Does anyone know of a technique in Finale to convert a string of, say,
eighth notes to dotted eighth, sixteenth; or perhaps a string of
sixteenths to dotted sixteenth, thirty-second? Can Finale do it itself?
Is there a plugin available?
Haven't found one yet, but you can ease the labour sli
ce performed or is it simpler to buy the
DIY kit and are they a satisfied customer?
How can I get rid of that now annoying reminder message?
Thanks in advance,

The "piano reduction" referred to is actually a piano-vocal reduction
from a chorus-and-orchestra score made with Sibelius. In the original

money in that decision. If there is anything that I can do to outline
the qualities or problems between them both then I shall.

Sibelius did write some great symphonies, but sadly not with Sibelius ;-)

by half.
