I am working on a full orchestral score in 3/4 time. Since I have doubled up
instruments on the staves, I occasionally have a measure where one instrument
is completely at rest but the second is playing. Since I am using default
whole measure rests for the entire piece, I need to u
Perhaps that is the root of the problem. I used simple entry to put the rest
in and it would simply disappear when I changed to speedy (to make the
vertical adjustment). I'll try entering the rest with speedy entry. I do

If you have the full acrobat, you can create a pdf with security
restrictions. One of the restrictions would be to not allow printing
of the document. Other restrictions will keep the end user from
changing the document etc. There may be other enhancements to Acrobat

I've seen it done with 16 and with 33. It's my feeling that you should
always count every measure including the repeated measures. I would
mark it as measure 33.

when I print it to .pdf, the bar lines for part of the score are darker
than other parts. I first noticed it in the perc parts where I reset
the staff lines for two of the 5 staves to a 3 line grid. The bar

I have prepared a music book for printing and decided to do it
off-site. I prepared all the music pages in Finale and converted them
to pdf. Other pages such as the cover and table of contents, etc. were
prepared using other programs, such as Photoshop, and also converted to

I double checked my file and it does have a pdf extension - which I
would have expected since it was created using Adobe Acrobat. The
version of Acrobat they were using was Acrobat 7 and I thought that may
have something to do with it (since I am using v 4), however, older

been resolved. I just returned from my 3rd trip to Kinkos and they were
