It is with great regret that I offer Tyr for sale.
I'd promised myself a year + ago that I'd give him time, that I'd ride
him, that surely he would get more forward and not be slow. I believe
someone on the list said it a year ago

I must add that the comarodity was superb, as everyone there was a
pleasure to be around. I still don't know how it happened, but, I will
be the
new Barn Manager for next years show.
Thanks for listening to my story, I was just

I just have to say once again how much I enjoy the Fjord Digest. I get
to see Fred's pictures (FABULOUS!! btw, and send the URL on to my family
and friends for their enjoyment), I can commiserate with Saskia's
illness and add her to my

I'm in rather a quandary here. I'd originally gotten Tyr with the idea
that my kids would learn to ride (ha, 3 years later and I'm just now
talking my husband into letting my daughter take lessons :-( ) and so I
purposely looked

Giggling to myself here - it's obvious that different people have WIDELY
differing ideas of how much a knock-about saddle should cost. My pea brain
(and pea budget!) think of a $200 saddle as being one that I could use and
abuse

Ladies first - Holly, congratulations on your new purchase!! Even tho I'm 5'10
I've decided I like my little 13.0 hand Fjord horse. My 15.2 QH is ok too, I
just make sure I mount from a stump or trailer or something. For some reason

Tyr does it again, carries me capably, calmly and wonderfully thru some terrain
that is quite different from the flat land we normally traverse.
Tuesday I went for a ride with a friend from work at Bankhead Nat'l Forest.
I've heard

Last week, a lot of people was hurt by a violent thunderstorm in west Sweden
- one man was actually killed - and what all the 'experts' had said on TV
after this was STAY CLEAR OF LARGE OPEN

I know it's not terribly Fjord related, but I still found it quite entertaining
- I
fear 3 pints would have the same up-setting effect on me as you, focus on the

Along with my congratulations. The new fillies sound wonderful! Now for the
question - why does Silviann have to spend weeks in quarantine and the others
don't? From your email it sounded as if it were
age related somehow.

on a bb that I lurk at. I kept quiet, wondering how long it would take for the
breed
to be identified, only about 5-6 posts and Fjord was nailed. No one ever
acknowledged
any names, the original poster didn't remember where she'd

Denise, while I am by no means an experienced rider, this is what I found when
riding my 2 young guys after having older horses. They are work!! I rode my
3 yo
QH about 7 times the first summer I had him, the second summer, when he

You can make your own fly masks if you are looking for a custom fit. I found
the same sort
of materials at a local fabric store. The mesh was in the outdoor dept., lawn
chair type
stuff. The fuzzy stuff around the ears and nose

Ah, Catherine, I'm sorry to read this. I know you guys put a lot of try into
making
Markmann healthy. I hate this aspect of having animals in my life so much. I
just had to
put down our first dog last week, she would have been 11

My trailer is a steel stock trailer, I think it's 14' x 5'6 by 6'2. It may
be 16' long
tho or maybe only 5' wide . . . I, too, have used it for more than just
transporting
horses. My husband has moved a friend, I've gotten many

Sunday was the St Jude Children's Hospital Benefit ride, an 11 mile loop that
wound thru trees and by the Tennessee River. I'd planned on doing this ride
for a couple of months and had decided 11 miles for a first trail ride for Tyr

Just curious, were the wolf teeth on the top or bottom?
I've had a discussion with a vet and a vet tech RE this very subject
recently. One says they're only on the top, another says they don't
come in til the horse is much older, like 10

I hope I'm not borrowing trouble, but as I look at Tyr, I think he's
going to be difficult to fit with a western saddle. He's 3 yo, and got
virtually no withers. Or has virtual withers depending on your point of
view! He's got a short back

I certainly hope I didn't leave anyone with the impression that I wasn't
watching Tyr's feet closely. I have a farrier come regularly (who I
trust a great deal) for my QH, and he says Tyr just doesn't need
trimming. I am blessed. I wonder

I was just curious about the frequency with which your Fjord's hooves
are trimmed or shod. Are they shod?
The reason I wonder is because Tyr has had his feet trimmed once in 3
years. And that was around Feb or March of this year. I

Hi, my name's Casey, (female, don't you love androgynous names on the
'net?!) and I have a 3 yo Fjord gelding named Tyr. Also have a 4 yo QH
named Justin, but I figure this is a Fjord place, so I'll not mention
him anymore! We live in Northern
