Hi All,
Question. What do you think about outcrossing with Fjords?? What brought
this
question to mind was an ad on Dream Horse.com for a Fjord cross named
Cooper.

I believe those old-time horsebreakers used to use a big pole in the center
of the round pen as a snubbing post. I love my round pen but I sure
wouldn't want a post in the middle of it! Seems like it would just be a
hazard to me

Well I dunno. I saw a picture of a Canadian x Fjord mare for sale a few

I once saw a grey dun Fjord at a combined driving event - he'd been painted

Yep. Obese. She was pretty skinny when I got her in November and I've been
pouring the food to her... I've been thinking she still has a ways to go, but
my vet says otherwise. She may be right... It's clear that Friska needs to
fill out

I agree with Jaimie and Ruthie on this issue.
Bad owners are only part of the problem. Animals (and people of course) are
born with instincts and personalities that are affected but not overruled by
experience and training.

Gray is a dominant gene (no relation to the gray dun Fjord colour), so the
Percheron/Fjord cross got the gray gene from her Percheron parent. Plus she
would have received a dun gene from her Fjord parent. We don't know what

There is a lethal white factor but it has nothing to do with cremellos,
perlinos and smoky creams. It can be carried with the overo paint colour
pattern (a horse with the overo gene may or may not be paint coloured). A
