isn't the most appropriate solution for the design/economic challenge at
hand. That's why I'm using a FLEX-5000A as the centerpiece of a new
10-band 6m to 3cm VHF/UHF/uW station - replacing all of my single-band
riceboxes, etc. I'm looking forward to the fun of using
t getting things going, so fine tuning may occur as I
start to use this for VHF contesting, but all of the basics are there with
the click of a mouse and minimal typing.
Oh - and CPU loading isn't a problem even with all of that running. There
is plenty of horsepower to spare.

You are correct on the power setting. 100% means 100% out of the SDR-1000.

No need to reply to this one - just add it to the wish pile :-)
Apparently, my RX2 is waiting for me at the post office. Looks like I

Very cool John! Nice GUI :-)
Now, if I could just find a method to run 3 displays under Kubuntu and
replace WriteLog and/or N3FJP's logger with their Linux clones, I could
ditch WinDoze for good!

Read the ALC voltage fed to the SDR backside in real-time with a cheap A/D
that feeds the hardware controller (possibly even an A/D on the hardware
controller, if there is one), then report the real-time measurement back
to PowerSDR for action.

I'd have to agree with Ed. 25 years ago was 1982, and the IBM PC was a
mere babe in the woods. I don't recall WriteLog being around until the
Windows environment was well established, which was in the 90's.

I also like the rectangular metal case on the Linksys KVM and its

Agreed. I'm using my SDR-1000 with a DEM 144-28HP without the internal
preamp (zero gain), coupled with a LNA Technologies CAV-144EME cavity LNA
and a Lunar-Link LA-22 PA. VERY nice combo!
