Great news! Thanks to Jim K5HY, I have been able to get my DPCs way down by
getting the latest bios for my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. A Google
search revealed some gamers who had the exact same DPC spikes when running
the dpclat.exe utility. The latency issues were NOT even mentioned as a fi

As a further update, apparently I opened a web browser in DM780 though I

Well it looks like I may have found the culprit to my DPC problem. As I
mentioned previously my problem appeared to be occurring only when
running HRD/DM780. If I closed DM780 but let HRD continue running no
problem or if I was running MixW no problem. Anyways, I noticed another

Here is a possibly silly and orthogonal question: if one should always
start with "safe mode 1" why not rename that to "normal" and change
the name of "normal" to "slight imp

One of the updates recently imposed along about the time of sp3, but NOT

Backed off to sp3 and OK.

Unless somebody tells m which one first!

Hello Don,
Is there any chance that your pc installed any Microsoft updates between
the weekend and today?
Have you tried running the dpc checker program to see if possibly a long
dpc is the culprit? You can download the free program dpclat.exe from:

Starting today I have experienced an unusual problem. I will be

press the stop button and then press it again (start). Nothing has
changed and I even reset the database but to no avail. It was running
