Airport issues with old PMac

I know this should go on another list but I don't want to subscribe just for one question. Has anyone had problems getting a PCI Powermac to work getting a DHCP (or using Static) IP from an Airport Dual Ethernet? Every time the computer loads it crashes the ethernet connection and disables eve
