Excuse me for my english, but I will try to be clear.
I understand that you shouldn't move a Hard Disc when
spinning, because you can break it.
The HD has small discs which are very fragile.
It has small arms which reads the information so they
move really fast. If one of the arms only touch one
I guess this is not true for new drives. Otherwise all my laptops would be
dead by now. Also consider that the same drive is also in iPod - I doubt
that people switch off the iPod before moving it - quite the opposite - many
run with the iPod for several miles. I usually do not switch the machine

They'd *better*!! They're laptop drives, after all!
Hum. Have you talked about these expectations with IBM?
I can see newer drives being built for moving around *a bit*, but I
wouldn't count on it
I do not understand what you are telling me.

I have a problem with Safari Internet Explorer. They no longer work
on Earthlink Cable. I can download emails, update Quicken Files, and
use Netscape.
I am using a 500MHz Pismo with a built in Apple Airport Card connected
to Netgear Base.
This computer worked great for three months until

Hey everyone, well after reading everyones advice I reformatted the computer
right out of the box, I slimed down the install and the iBook is running great!
alot more HD space free'd up alot of room. However, I'm not sure what I need to
reinstall from the second DVD to burn cd's and watch dvd's on
Not sure if my last message went through as I didn't receive a confirmation from
my email program, however, I reformatted my iBook G4, and I'm wondering what
software from the second install DVD to burn cd's and watch dvd's.
Please excuse me if I double posted.
Thanks, Josh

I have a PowerBook and a ZIP SCSI Drive.
I can boot from a Zip disc using the StartUp Disc
Control
If you understand Spanish, I will be more clear for
sure.
Alejandro -
I have seen posts by native English speakers that are not as clear as
yours.
Your English is fantastic.
Ciao,

Check using the Mac OS X Install Disc on your SCSI
Burner.
When the machine restarts, it should boot from the OS
X Disc.
If not, you can't use that burner to boot.
Anyway, it should boot, so I don't know what's
happening.

It seems the internal CD-ROM drive in my Wall Street
PB is shot but I have an external (SCSI) CD-R/W drive
and bootable disks of course (I was thinking of Disk
Warrior in this case).
Holding down the C key on startup didn't work
(is this only for the internal CD-ROM drive?)
The C key
