Pismo - Modem.....

Hello evrybody, Usually I'm using my pismo within a WiFi-DSL environment, so I haven't really used the internal modem for ages. But when I went on holiday up in the mountains, I had to use dial-in (what a difference! Actually waiting for webpages *g*), but I noticed, the connection was really

Dial up performance it dependent on the phone line you are using, not the modem, as I always get 48.5 at home and only 28.6 at a friends house just down the street from me using the same laptop. Tom And then, isn't there any way of getting a Firmware-update for the v.90-modem to as v.92? I

Cleaning PowerBook's innards?

Just scored an entire bottom case for a Wallstreet, for a paint mod project. It's intact and in good shape, but looks like it's been sitting on a shelf in a garage or basement for quite a while. Wiping down the outside was easy enough, but there are a few grimy areas on the inside

Help w/ AOL, Jaguar, Wallstreet

Is anyone out here still using AOL in OS X? My sister is, and I promised I'd help her work out some problems. Unfortunately, I can't figure it out. The issue is that AOL won't talk to the Wallstreet's modem. I installed it on my Pismo (10.3.9), and that's what I'm using to connect right

I've cleaned several Mac case parts by running them through the dishwasher. Plastic only of course and only on the top rack or air dry. Took a leap of faith the first time I tried it but all worked out well. I have never done any PowerBook parts however, but I can't imagine there is anything so

Did you try selecting a different modem model? I don't remember which OS it was for but Apple had to create another modem profile for one OS version because of problems like this. It was long ago and my memory is getting shorter with age. John On May 31, 2005, at 8:02 PM, Andrew Kershaw
