Key question: Is your 17 TFT's (or any other monitor
you may eventually want on your iBook) native screen
resolution higher than your proposed iBook's? You
can't drive an external monitor of any sort at a
higher resolution than what the iBook is capable of
displaying on its own screen, and
no, you need SODIMM type memory, same as PC laptops.
Standard computer memory wont physically fit in the iBook (or any
other laptop for that matter)

Yes you should be able to, I have burnt some +R discs and they are
readable on my iBook.
*However*, not all +R discs may work, a +R disc is apparently readable
in 80% of dvd drives whilst -R is readable in drives.
The general rule of thumb is that recent computers should be able to
read pretty

Hi all,
I have an icebook in which I wish to network to a PC using firewire.
What's the best application on the mac side to allow me to do this? I
usually would just network using the ethernet port, but the pc's being
used as a server and so I cannot unplug it.
Thanks in advance.

G-Books is

search the apple.com site for it.

I just inherited a slot loading iMac 350 MHz that I want to upgrade to
Panther. Question is, will the 128 MB DIMM that I took out of my 333

exact results, (one time the screen just went black). I've already
used the discs to install Panther on my iMac, so I'm reasonably sure
it's not a bad disc problem. Anybody have ideas or suggestions?

This can't be entirely true. I use iMovie 2 on my Lombard 333 (No

I got a hand-me-down Lombard from a friend who was replacing it with a
