Mad Dog Tom and Lisa Peters [EMAIL PROTECTED] have suggested
that it's a failing backlight.
It is the backlight, you really don't need to worry until it fails,
but when it does you will have serious trouble seeing anything on the
screen. It's sort of like a florescent lamp going bad. Just

Your Pismo's lighting for the display is getting old.
Mine has done that since I got the Pismo in June of
this year. From what I understand from previous
threads on this list, it is a replaceable item that
you may wish to have someone else do. IIR, the cost
is about $60-$70 for the job TM. I'm
Listers,
What would cause the above symptom? It goes away after a short while?

Aye, exactly.
Meaning the tabs are the aluminum parts of the hinges. If so, it should

Hi all:
I need to replace the AC/power board on my Pismo, a very hairy
operation in which one basically has to remove every single thing
that can be removed from the computer in order to get at the old
board and put in the new one.
In the process of attempting this delicate operation, I

Hello All,
I think my display is on it's way out. :(
Wanted to get opinions here just in case I'm wrong. Pismo 500/1gig.
Had it now for almost two years. Great computer. . .trouble free. The
other day I was setting up an iBook for a client, and he wanted some of

Hi, Carlos,
I recently replaced the broken display in my Lombard with a Pismo
screen - the inverse to your problem. No problems noted here, but
you'll have to be careful of the built-in airport antenna on your
Pismo. I've seen some warnings about the screen from a Pismo not
lasting as long in
Hi everyone,
I have a busted display on a Pismo 400 MHz PowerBook. I have the
opportunity to pick up a screen for an older (Lombard) screen, for next to
nothing. Will the two screens work interchangeably? I know they're the
same size, but Apple has different part numbers for them.
