Hi Dark,
Yeah, I know what you mean. When the Grue was mysterious you could
imagine anything you wanted to. However, when Infocom decided to start
describing them and even offered a drawing in some of their later

Besides all of the things that Thomas said, the biggest problem that I have is

Hi Jim,
Just for your info accessing both sticks on a gamepad is actually
quite simple with DirectInput. The joystates are lX and lY for the
left stick and rX and RY for the right stick. My memory of the correct
VB code is a bit fuzzy but it should look something like this.

I posted that review right here on Audyssey. It should be in the list

Hi Valiant,
That sounds about right. Although, that unit was out more like 8 years

long in the tooth. However, it still works fine with a lot of games.

I remember when force feedback started to be a thing on the ps 1 it looked

Hi Dark,
Well, I agree that force feedback is definitely one of those features
that has never really lived up to its full potential. It is something
that a game developer could use to add a new and much more unique
experience to any game, but has largely been ignored or misused.
Therefore it
Hi Charles,
Yep. It sure does. Although, one has to install Philips drivers and
software to use the force feedback feature. I haven't had XP for ages
so have been running the Microsoft generic Windows drivers which work
okay, but lack force feedback support for the device.
Cheers!

A handheld game that used force feedback immediately comes to my mind. Lunker

I would also think that force feedback could be used in a racing game when you

So, I figured out how the path system works. I wonder how long that feature has

Nevertheless, I intend to try it again, joining the Orlirani.

Hi Charles,
Yes, using force feedback to determine if a car is on the track or in

I find this not very likely. Here's why: When player 1 landed on Illinois
Avenue, it should have been bought. Not only is it the most expensive of
that group, but there is a card that tells a player to go directly to it.
This increases the odds of it being landed on. Then, Player 2: Roll:
