So, I did fix it. Well, just catch all errors in that call. But however,
it worked.

So, geeqie is a GUI application. How should every aspect of a GUI be

or for APIs but for GUIs tests are (in my opinion) meaning

At least in the svn repository is a debian directory which should be
fine to just do a debuild on your *ubuntu.

I think, yes. As I use debian in my work I have some motivations to hold
it correct. Also this helps other to fast rebuild there own debian
package from source.
However, I will contact the debian maintainer, Michal ÄihaÅ, to see what
he think about. Looks like
features in vim to walk around in the source files
(you might have a look in ctags). Also there is some nice vim plugins to
go through code.

Ps. For the moment I think it is fine to use pgettext until it is fixed
in the english strings. I set a tag to the version I used to
implement the pgettext so it can be reverted later if all ambiguous
strings are solved.

Sorry, I didn't sent a patch for it. I think about a caching of the
directory and not to stat but checking against the internal cache. Maybe
with the use of a regex library. But this was definitively noting for
the Sunday evening.
