Is the bootstrap.sh missing in gentoo-3stages-x86-1.4_rc3.iso?  I was going through the installation process, and after copying and extracting stage1-x86-1.4_rc3.tar.bz2 to /mnt/gentoo.  I went inside usr/portage, but there was no bootstrap.sh file.  Could someone please verify?  Thanks

1. Very complete. I had that concern, too when I started using it but it's not a problem. There are close to 34,000 packages done. I've found it's better than RPMS but then I am coming from Caldera . 2. Pretty quickly. I haven't seen much delay. 3. Yes, you just merge in updates. 4.

You might tray a stage 2 or 3 but if your card isn't recognized now it may not be with those. I've only done stage 1. However, if you haven't done emerge sync you won't have any files. Have you tried finding out what module your card uses and doing a modprobe on it once the LiveCD is booted?

I believe it's a security feature of qmail where it won't deliver mail to root. You have to setup an alias for root to have it be delivered to another user. Go to /var/qmail/alias and edit .qmail-root (or create it if it doesn't exist) to contain &username where username is the username of the user
