Normally I'd say if you can telnet in & the commands by hand, then that's the best test IMO and how I diagnosed Comcast's servers track down an issue sending mail whem Jim lost DNS resolution for hardwaregroup.com. With SSL, I don't think you can do that and any router issues would affect more
