Is there a method to kill a linux srcs dedicated server via process ID? It appears to create two processes, one of them is srcds_run and then creates the actual game process. From what I can tell, the only way to close the server is to kill both processes manually, as killing the original

Sounds right, you telling the server to start by exec'ing server1.cfg, but on map change it sounds right that it would fall back to using server.cfg unless there is a way in server1.cfg to tell it not to such as the mapchangecfgfile type setting. Maybe just make server.cfg it an empty file,
