Use metamod-p (not metamod) and rename it as metamod.so. It will work.

Servers are unplayable too. ( Cpu spike, lag ..Etc. )
With the last update : 12 players > 65/75 % Cpu and before this update
16 players > 35/45 % Cpu :-( .
