Hi,
For the archives and something some of you might want to go and get
now. IBM has provided a solution in the service stream to properly
support sites that run with SQA or ESQA normally above 100% to make good
use
So can't you set up DAE as not shared and have each system use
its own (I realize you lose the sysplex wide benefit of DAE)?
That's what we ended up doing. That also describes the big disadvantage: We're
losing the sysplex wide benefit which hurts us on two pairs out of 5 systems.
It also
Shows the level of natural confusion there is on the subject. :-)
I myself had to stop and think about it for a second.
I'm wondering why (fundamentally) it's still a one-way conversion. Why
can't / shouldn't CSA overflow into SQA?
Cheers, Martin

Angelo,
I'm not familiar with Sakai, but from looking at the website it is a Java
web application which currently supports:
- Apache Tomcat web container - (porting to Websphere should be trivial)
- MySql or Oracle database - (porting to DB2 might be some work)
- Sun Java JDK - (porting to IBM

This APAR introduce two new parameters CPCR and ZZ but haven't seen any
documentation for these.

Hi.
I have two product that need two different customized mod iefactrt.
Every product gives a sample of iefactrt, but these two sample are very
different.
I manage system software with SMP/E, and i don't know the way to resolve
the problem.
Thank.
The name IEFACTRT is the default name for an exit at that point. By means
of PROGxx, SETPROG EXIT or CSVDYNEX you can specify a module with a
different name, and more importantly, more than one of them. You may have
to consider how the exit return codes are used, I think by default the RC from
The name for an IEFACTRT exit doesn't have to be IEFACTRT. You can
use the PROGxx member of parmlib or the SETPROG command to define
more than one module name that will be invoked for IEFACTRT processing.
Refer to z/OS MVS Initialization and Tuning Reference for
more information. So, you can
And please remember to have enough memory for failover from other
CFs. Same for enough processor power. Most folks believe a CF
won't fail. If you are brave enough to believe that for your
mission critical data sharing applications, then no problem. BUT...

have been a set of NetView execs, panels, and programs provided with

I would advise going back to both product vendors and encourage them to either :
(1) Supply their IEFACTRT exits using their own product prefix on the module
name (eg XYZACTRT) and then have code within their product to perform the
required CSVDYNEX steps to install it
(2) Supply instructions

Don's URL corresponds to IBM TCP/IP for MVS Programmer's Reference Version
3 Release 2, SC31-7135-02, of July 1996 which may well be when you last had
a look at the DPI. I even remember you posting something about the DPI so it
will be before 1999.
DPI is all about implementing RFC 1228

The OP wanted to send traps, not receive them.
Amazingly, the SNMP manger API offers the creation and sending of
notifications. Whether the notification protocol is symmetrical, hence peer-
to-peer, or an asymmetrical, generally implying client-server, will need a

Tommy, have a look at the CSI - documented as an appendex in Managing
Catalogs I think. Samples in SAMPLIB as well.
Been discussed here on the list often.

I commend RFC 2573, SNMP Applications, to you. You'll love it since
you've got the tee-shirt trying - and succeeding - to follow SNA network
management.
It deconstructs the old manager-agent paradigm into 5 functions, and
suggests that any combination in one program can be considered.

There's lot's of info about using the Catalog Interface in z/OS, and
there are some samples in SYS1.SAMPLIB. You want to find UCAT entries,
which denote User Catalogs.
