Does OSA Express2 Ethernet support zVM layer2 mode

Just did a quick test on a test VM system. CLEAR_TDisk is enabled. With a T-DISK size of 1300 cylinders, clearing/formatting it isn't noticed, speed wise. Would have thought I would have gotten a message, during IPL, that clearing was being done, but no big deal. Steve -Original

Yes the OSA does support the Layer 2. It took us some time and effort but it does work. Are you setting this up so that it allows you the ability to move Linux guest from one VM to another while retaining it's IP address? If so you will need to start assigning MAC addresses and keeping track of

I think the real problem here is that when CP is thrashing about for whatever reason, it can be very hard to get control of a VM prompt to manually fix things. Perhaps if CP could determine that some resource is being sorely abused, it could degrade the offending machine at least to the point
