installation, the splash screen said gimpshop. But otherwise, when I
launch it, it looks just like gimp.

s the software to be used in proprietary
programs. I think this was written primarily to permit some amount of
inter-operation. And, I think, it was even known as the licence for
libraries. However, now FSF encourages developers to use GPL.
