Wayne, I also have word 2010. Lately, I've found that pressing the alt key,
then the f, followed by I, e works. Like Justin, I used to find the sequence
began with alt-f pressed together but not lately, at least with Word 2010.

The other way is to try to save it, and it gives you the ability to hit
enable editing if you use the right arror.

I don't have Windows 10 but Windows 7 but I turn on the Jaws cursor and find
where it says "enable editing" and I route the PC cusor there and the
document is ready for editing.

You can turn this off for all of your documents in word by following the
following steps:
1. Open Microsoft Word. You can close the document that opens, if a blank one
does load at start-up.
2. Press Alt plus F

2007.

checkboxes are there. After pressing, Alt + F, then pressing, T, arrow down
to Trust
list. Arrow down to, Protected View,
now tab to the various checkboxes.
