I'm alittle late coming to this particular discussion, but I found when using syslinux.com it could never get it to boot, finally I ran the syslinux that came w/ redhat (desktop linux for me) and all worked great.I didn't really need to change much else from the normal settings... Joey -Ori

I am not aware of any issues, when it comes to booting from DOM. In my experience they behave just like normal IDE disks, but i never used a "secure" version. Using loadable kernel modules for IDE support is not a problem, just make sure they are in /boot/lib/modules. To avoid "lock" problem
