Chris..
What you propose is likely do-able--- some of it fairly straightforward, other parts more complex. Trying to support a wireless client as well as a router/firewall from the same wireless interface could be troublesome. Note that we used Orinoco 802.11b adapters, which would not be suita

Apologies to the list for the slightly off-topic content of this message.
I was wondering what the opinions of the list members were of security

Has anyone taken the courses and obtained certification for the following...

We do not use power management features, so I can't offer suggestions in
that regard, but I am curious why you would want it. In our ca

Before you take the leap into wireless, do your homework to make sure you
want to go down that path. You may be challenged by a number of issues, and
it can get expensive to deal with some of them ( antennas, security, etc..)

I don't know about using as many as 5, but I have successfully used 3 of the

but I would not expect the situation to be any different.

Bering is likely a good platform for this... we have had some very promising

I went through the same thing about a week ago.
Assuming that you are using the floppy-disk version of Dachstein rather than
Dachstein-CD, the problem exists because the Dachstein-small kernel on the
floppy doesn't have serial support rolled into it.

Hi Charles,
Can you advise whether it is feasible to use the Dachstein 1.02 RAID enabled
kernel to build a bootable floppy that will be capable of mounting and
reading an ext2 partition on a pair of mirrored SCSI drived connected to a
Compaq SmartArray 2/P controller? ( Almost a simple rescue d

I have reached the point of frustration.
I have been experimenting with Bering as a wireless gateway platform, and
have finally had some success getting the wireless interfaces to work.

Hi Jacques.
I appreciate your ongoing efforts to move LEAF to 2.4.x kernel!
I have begun to experiment with Bering (b3) to attempt to build a router
that can support a wireless pcmcia interface using the orinoco_cs driver.
The end product should be strictly routing with firewall ( no NAT), and a
Very interesting Jacques!!!
It seems this is just what I have been looking for as I want a LEAF
platform that uses 2.4.12 kernel (or newer) to support latest pcmcia and
wireless tools. However, at first glance I was not able to locate the
orinoco_cs wireless drivers... are they hiding somew
