DC motors are not cheap most of the time. (if you want to buy them new.) But
there are other methods to get the job done besides adding a motor

Looks like you got a mighty nice Machine, there for sure. I am partial to
the 1200 myself and enjoy
using them a lot. Besides the woodchuck the 1200 was my first actual LOM.

I think you did a very good job on that tiger striped maple. As a general rule
of thumb, the more figured the wood grain , the less you want to add details
to the wood. I think you did a pretty fair assessment of what is needed to
make this a good looking stick.

I also usually bring short bar clamps to make sure I can secure the LOM to
the stands. I have a couple of heavy roller stands that work great but if I
don't secure them, it will just roll off :).
