Greetings!
Can someone please tell what place holders are used for and how to use them.
I can't find any reference to them in the help files. I want so insert some
pictures in the beginning of my book. I don't necessarily want to use the
scrap book function to do this.

Actually, there is a TASKARRANGER. It can be downloaded from:

Does the same job as TaskArrange and was probably the one you were
thinking of, Sandra. Pity about the confusing names for applications
which both do the same thing :-).

There are a number of screen capture utilities available - free and
shareware. Windows users though have a basic built-in screen capture
utility all ready to use with a couple of keystrokes.
To capture the full screen, just press the PRT SCR key (to the right

July 1932 (covering July-Sep). UK BMD quarter dates were added to Legacy
with version 6.0.0.82. Legacy online help doesn't mention this but "What's

I use a MacBook and have split it fifty-fifty
between Windows and Apple. Most Mac users would
probably not be willing to give Windows that much
space, but I am not all that unhappy with
Windows.
Reunion is up to date and a good program and is
used by most who use Mac.
However, if I want to I can
If the database was on CD the file properties are probably read only.
Right click on the file, select properties and remove the tag from read only (not sure about the terms because I use the Dutch version of windows xp).
If the file is still on CD than you have to move the file to Hard Disk, Legacy
On my computer it's windows defender updating and scanning my computer at 12.00 AM (takes up 100% cpu) I just wait a couple of minutes and than other programms start working again.
For me this started after the last windows updates.

software to run on a Mac, but from I am hearing, it runs agonizingly slow.
So it runs so slow, that most people will declare Legacy does not run on a

entering the source, not just the "exciting part" of newly found
information. Providing them with a template to follow would make this
much easier and enjoyable for them now, and more useful for all

I was wondering if the problem with the relationship
calculator has been resolved. Have not seen anything lately and
thought I may have missed it. Since the problem developed I have
added lots of new info but don't want to redo the calculations

As the user who started this thread I wish to issue an apology and a
clarification. In no way was I intending to start a flame. For what it is
worth, I think Legacy is a superb genealogy program. It has numerous
features that make it an excellent choice for any genealogist irrespective
