Legacy Chart
I created a Ancestor Book in Legacy and saved as PDF.
I then created several charts in Legacy Charting as PDFs.
I'd like to send out PDFs for family members to print themselves.
When I inserted the Charts into my Ancestor Book PDF, I noticed that the
size of the chart PDF pages were 8 x 10.67

Dear Peter,
Well, I have to congratulate you on your perseverance!
But for one so obviously competent to have to use two top-of-the-line

Peter,
An interesting reply.
Whilst I certainly take my hat off to Millennium for having done an
extraordinary job with Legacy, it obviously doesn't preclude one from
flagging up flaws.
Creating a RTF output which writes [caption John Doe] inder the
pictures is I believe such a flaw. I've
really wish to persist with it.

Susan, and others, I really appreciate your taking the trouble to
explore this with me.
If you do exactly as Susan has done - going to create a pdf file, but
instead of saying 'yes' to viewing the pdf, you say 'no', you are left
on the screen with a preview that I called a rtf file, because it

That preview is identical to having Screen / Printer chosen,
and then clicking on Preview.
You are looking at the RTF creation as a fixed item. It is
entirely flexible AND DEPENDS on settings
Peter,
Thankyou for your kind help.
Much of what you say is of course correct, but not all, I think. Of
course I understand that the RTF is there to be modified, but I am
saying that it is a poor imitation of the print preview. The title
page is present of course, but any image included on it is
If you look under the big printer icon, you will see various options -

That's the origin of the iffy rtf file; however if you select there

I know the various RTF, PDF, screen, printer options but I have never noticed
an RTF being created when selecting the
Legacy PDF output.

Couimet3 - , if you watch carefully what is happening, Legacy goes
through two processes. First it creates a formatted text file that is
much better than its RTF file, then it goes on to create the PDF.
It would improve the reporting facillity considerably if the two

Alistair,
I have tried to recreate this, but I don't seem to see what you see.

Doesn't Acrobat Reader version 7 have an option for the creator to allow alterations. It seems I use fill in forms more and more that allow some alterations to the basic form. I certainly donot pretend to be an expert, just an observation.Nick CirilloAlastair Lack [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: We
