[LegacyUG] Single or double click mouse operation

2013-11-29 Thread 2marion wimps
Am I mistaken in my memory or were we able to use either a single click or double option on L v7.5 - I can't find this option anywhere. Marion Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyuserg

[LegacyUG] Media Hanging - cannot close Legacy

2013-11-29 Thread 2marion wimps
Have installed Legacy v 8.0.0.353 on Toshiba Laptop, Windows 7, Intel Core i7, 8GB with all of my Media files on E drive where they have lived with L7.5 for years. When I go into Media Gallery and try to scroll down to see more photos it will work once or twice but then the whole thing hangs and t

Cathy I relinked through the Media Relinker Tool - it advised me there are three media files missing which I can deal with later but the files I have opened are not the ones with the missing media - it also happens on some of the Media Gallery when I try to slide the bar across to make the picture

Cathy - The missing media files are ones where I have merely changed the names of the pics which I knew would be found so I am not so worried about those - I can sort those out later - it is the fact that the programme hangs at this point and the only recourse is to close it down via Task Manager.

Small query - should the date of the files be updated to 2013? I have downloaded V8 and also the Geo codes etc. but when I look under the [MyDocuments]\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\Misc it is showing a 2012 date for Country Codes, a 2005 date for County codes. a 2008 date for Extra Codes and a 2008

Is there a chance we can get this back again? Having the single and double click removed and the hovering action moved is very aggravating - there also seems no easy way to view each child of a parent as you used to - when you click on the child it automatically pops up to the main screen in Family

I know the single and double click is no longer available - I have already asked about this - not too happy about it. Have also found the same with the scrolling problem as you describe. Whilst most of the enhancements are quite brilliant these three little items alone are rather aggravating to say

As Paula says - go t the Picture Centre. There you can enter all of the details on the picture, attach it to a person, and subsequently attach it to as many other people as you want. It takes a bit to get the hang of it but I have done it numerous times and it saves a lot of time, effort and energy

Re Settings don't stay. I may be wrong on this but my setting seem to stay very well. I would prefer someone from Legacy to come in on this but if I go to the Index settings, Set the columns the way I want, right click on the header row, then click on Customize (which brings up Index View Columns)
