What the hell are you folks talking about? I hate to be annoying, but
Ingo Molnar works for Red Hat. Stephen Tweedie works for Red Hat. Both
are on this list and are heavily involved with RAID and RAID issues. I'm
on this list (though I don't read it as much as I'd like to).

Hi Chris,
maybe this is the sort of feedback you are looking for. Quick info on my
profile: quite exp. Windows Sys Admin, converting to Linux. No Linux
experience until recently. Had to set up a Server, RAID1 was a "must". Had
to struggle my way through command lines etc. and am doing this now f

hi linux-raid folks...
I just finished installing the raid stuff into linux-2.2.1
w/ rh-5.2 with all the 5.2 patch files
I used raid0145-19990128-2.2.0.gz and also the latest
raidtools-19990128-0.90.tar.gz
it works good...
however, I'm sure you folks all know that there is a header problem

With the latest raid patches, you can autostart the raid on the root
partition, so there

I disagree. The docs are pretty okay if you run 2.0.x,
raidtools 0.42 and take the time to really understand
what you're doing.

I'd love to see it integrated, but that time is passed for now... we've
just seen the 2.2 release and we cannot merge such a major functionality
at the moment... I don't believe that Linus would allow it
Roll on 2.3!
I believe that from what I have seen, the existing patches are well good
