I have been trying to compile a newer kernel and now I get a Kernel panic
error on boot. I should note that this was my first attempt at kernels, also
I can boot just fine with the original kernel. The error is:

mkrootdev: mknod failed: 17
mounting root filesystem with flag
Ok, I have the same here. I went through the step by steps again and found
that I missed the step of verifying that it detects the usb mouse when
plugged in. It does detect it but gives errors. It does not accept the
address assigned to it.

I have hose something up on my system (Mandrake8.1) while trying to configure
my laptop to use both the touchpad and a usb mouse. I went to the sxs and
followed the directions there as best I could. It didn't say anything about
using 2 mice though but I got all the modules loaded ok. So I searc
