Ah yes, thank you, that WRITE_ONLY thing did it
IGELs work fine. Just set them up for PXE boot in the bios. I also
ripped out the disk-on-chip as well.
I did get best results by setting the /etc/vidlist entry for the IGEL to
use the nsc driver rather than geode

I'm using a DHCP relay agent on the FreeBSD router. You don't need to
have a DHCP server in the same subnet as the thin clients if you're
relaying the DHCP requests to a DHCP server in another subnet. DHCP
wasn't the issue at all since I could get an IP and boot up via TPFT.

login again was by removing this directory:
~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/
which removes the keyboard indicator from the gnome-panel.
But I really miss the keyboard indicator.

to make it short: almost everything is running ok, but when i plug in my

You don't need to access the /linuxrc script to modify the mount parameters.
Take a look at this wiki page:

Basically, you can pass any nfs options you want, via the 'MOPTS' parameter.
