Arrgh...
I just tried that, and now NFS doesn't work at all :-(
I have to admit, I just took Yast, removing nfs-utils and installing
nfs-server. After that, I got an error each time starting Yast, saying
the two pack

I had the same problem with SuSE9.0 (kernel2.4) and the kernel
nfs-server daemon. After switching to the userspace nfs-server-daemon
the problem was gone (remove "nfs-utils", install "nfs-server").

I also had big problems with S3 integrated (on a 486) and SuSE9.0/LTSP4.
First of all the XF86-4 Module (s3) wouldn´t work. So go fo

locally installed operating system, I only run into this problem
during the doing the pivot_root stage in booting the client in ltsp
client-mode.
Maybe this would also be worth mentioning in the FAQ, as I don´t seem
to be the only one affected.

my setup: SuSe8.2prof, ltsp3.0.9, nxclient-1.2.2-31(static)
I tried to run nxclient as a local app, but failed. The error seems to
be the glibc version used by ltsp. Is there some updated or
alternative glibc package for ltsp?
Nxclient works if started directly on my SuSE8.2 - can I
Hello ltsp-discuss,

Hi,
we would like to setup 20-25 workstations on a wireless network. The
workstations should each be equipped with a 54MBit WLan PCI Card
(802.11g standard).
Can I use LTSP on this setup? Which 802.11g PCI network cards are
known to work well with ltsp? Is a diskless setup possible (in the

Sorry, I thought the context was clear when answering to Derek´s mail,

Looks very promising.
Have you tried this? Can anybody give me real world numbers compared
to non-commercial and windows alternatives?
Is it easy to integrate in an ltsp-setup?

Hello list,
our company wants to connect about 20 clients via a 2MBit link for
terminal services usage. The original plans were to set up a Windows
Terminal Server and connect the clients via rdp-protocol as citrix
seemed too expensive. As the clients mostly just do text processing
and mail (Lotus
