Joseph, The first thing I'd look for is the cards PCI Vendor and Device ID. if you can put the card in a machine and boot linux from a harddisk, then run: lspci -n Look for the lines that say 'Class 0200'. Those are the network cards. See if you get the proper 10ec:8139 value. Also, check

Garry Are you sure that you saved the rom image from rom-0-matic as a binary rom image (.lzrom) and not .lzdsk? The 27c256 is a good eprom for the 8139, so no problem there. Also, when you program the eprom are you using the correct device driver for your particular brand of 27c256? ed On Wed, 2
