Hi I want to achieve the following and wondered whether it is possible. I think it should be can't get it to work. I have an erray of equations x=blah y=boo eq(1.1) z=cow and I want a single equation number on the middle line as shown Although I can get it not to number the first line by

Wrong equation numbering

Hello, I am currently using lyx 2.0.0 for my thesis and have a very odd problem. The equation numbering on the lyx GUI is totally wrong though they are correct if I convert them View pdflatex.  For example, equation is displayed as (561) on lyx, but the pdf output shows the correct numbering

Hi! Do you always have to number your equations or only when they are referred to in the text? For example, if I introduce an equation thusly: The bang-bang force is applied to the right if equation here in display mode Do I need to number it? Please help me resolve

Hi LyXers, I imported a LyX 1.3 project (i.e. a master.lyx + other *.lyx files included) into the new LyX 1.4 version. Everthing works out of the box but the numbering: now figures and equations do not have the chapter number any more and a single number is used across all chapters. I am sure

Problem with equation numbering in amsbook

I am having trouble with equation numbering using the amsbook document class (LyX 1.3.5 on Mac OS X). The default equation numbering scheme for this class is \numberwithin{equation}{section}, however I would like to use \numberwithin{equation}{chapter}. I put this command in the preamble but
