I personally use Docuscan Plus, and find it does much much better. Having said that, I do completely understand that financially, this probably is not going to be an option for a lot of people. If you all would like, I can try to search for another free pdf alternative. Just let me know.

Skim is very usable. however the drawback is that sometimes it does this: it ontro-duces weird pronun ciations into words. Sorry, that's going to drive your synthesisers nuts but there you have it. It seems to apply weird hyphenation patterns and cause stilted or interrupted speech.

Hello: To select text in other places rather than an edit field, you just need to set your rotor on the mode you will select; let's say, words, sentences, lines, etc. When you have it, just pace your cursor, with your finger flick down or up at the start of the block of text you want to select.
