So David, can you read PDFs fine on the mac? If so what app do you use?
I have heard of Preview, does this work well with VoiceOver? I suspect it
does since it is built

I have had no need to use anything else but Preview, and reading has been
easy with this, but on the Mac you are spoilt for choice with PDF reading.
There are several programs available. So much so that PDF, which is a real
pain on the Windows side

eloquence is no where as clear a alex. I can't believe someone may think
that. Eloquence to me is so computer sounding and unreal.

Hello all.
Well, I have been using the other operating system PCs since 1997, and
it's time I now fancy a change of scenary. So in the future I am
considering switching to a mac. It should allow me to do the following:
1. Browse websites such as Facebook.
2. Manage my e-mail.

Hi Chris,
To expand a bit on Sarah's note, you can implement her Facebook / IE8
suggestion by doing the following:
1. when you're in Safari go to Safari Preferences by pressing Command+comma.
2. In Safari Preferences interact with the toolbar, select theAdvanced
button, stop interacting with
Hi Brian and all,
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've generally had few problems browsing the Facebook
site without changing the user agent. Granted, I switched from Safari to Crome
for my primary browsing needs a while ago, which seems to have improved
performance and stability over all.
That being
Thanks Bryan. I plan to use m.facebook.com and I have heard that it is
displayed differently, possibly even inaccessible, on a mac. Is this
really true? I'm sure I could work it out, but anyway, please advise.
Thanks!

Hi Chris,
If you've used the *lovely* native FB IOS App, you'll be familiar with some of
the shortcomings of the mobile site when accessed thru Safari on the Mac.
sometimes you can like a post, sometimes not. Sometimes you can comment,
sometimes not. Sometimes notifications show up, sometimes
Hi Zack,
Good point. I stepped back from Chrome over the past month or two after hitting
a couple of walls, and it's time I should test the waters again. Which build of
Chrome are you using, and are you using Chromevox or VO to navigate the
contents of the browser window?
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Brian,
I'm currently using Google Crome 16, the stable build, with VoiceOver. CromeVox
is nice in theory, but I don't like having to turn off VO to use it and lose
the screen curtain among other niceties.
Yours,
Zack.

True, haven't really thought about needing an optical drive. I do get

electronic download then burn them to CD/DVD at a later date
Hi Chris,
That's the FB App for IOS devices such as the iPhone, as I think you mentioned
owning an iPhone or other i-Device. I'm not sure if there's an actual FB
Application for the Mac OS. If you've not tried the official FB IOS App, it can
be found at the following link. Note that this is
