HI. you’ve made some really good points. I do think there are small
improvements being made though. Granted it’s slower than we would like it to
be, but consider the latest bug that was fixed which is voice over not reading

hi jonathan.

I do wonder if someone critical to do with Apple Accessibility has left or been
moved elsewhere. There are ongoing issues not just with Mavericks, but with iOS
7 as well, and while all software has bugs, some of these issues are quite
significant in terms of productivity.
I still think on
BTW, for those who think that Tim Cook just doesn’t give two s**ts about
accessibility, this is probably well worn a view. Be cynical and say it’s just
Tim spewing a line or whatever you like, but I kind of don’t get that.

Hi, alll,
I wasn't going to post to this thread, but I've been thinking about this
issue of accessibility. When I decided to switch to a Mac, I knew I had to
consider the fact that buying a product off the shelf was going to mean
risking some accessibility features. Maybe mainstream
Hi Teresa,
I agree with you! :)
Most of peoples problems are located in the chair ;)
I make a living every day on a mac pro running pro tools and never stop
studying PT the mac Os.
To sum it up don't sing the blues if you haven't paid the dues! :)
Make sure its a bug before you report it then
Hi,
I think we sometimes romanticize the idea that things were fabulous when we
used a screen reader that was developed by a company that specializes in screen
reading. Don’t get me wrong, I very much appreciate what the screen reader
companies have done for accessibility. At the same time, I
I’m about to really annoy the moderators but, thanks Teresa for such a
well-reasoned post. One thing to keep in mind is, Freedom Scientific doesn’t
design computers, nor do they design operating systems. They design a screen
reader that supports an operating system whose developers aren’t all

hi ,jonathan.
jonathan do not need to respond to this post, but let me tell you one thing
friend.
this is why I admire you and consider you the smartest blind in the world
you have an open mind, and think with a universal philosophy.
and still respect you more because you did not fear anything
Hi Mario, thanks for the very kind words...We are fortunate to have plenty of
thoughtful people on the list who've made some great contributions.
In response to what you've said, and the contributions of a few others today,
I'd make the following points.
Apple is a mainstream company, but by
Hi all, well after waiting patiently for the 10.9.1 update, it seems quite
disappointing to the extent that I even went into About this Mac to make
sure I was really running the update.

I second Jonathan's opinion, at least with regards to the mail messages in
conversation issue. Also, I was hoping they would fix this VO not speaking
when you wake up the mac issue. Sadly, this remains for me.
Unfortunately, all of those messages about dealing with that were posted before

Command f5 does it. Add fn to the combo if you have not checked the use all f1

I just want to say that in Mountain Lion the iMac 2012 have no problem with
Voice Over in regards of waking up from sleep. I said earlier that i had to hit
command + f5 and i did so, but it was because i turned off Voice Over before i
set iMac in hibernation every time i myself went to sleep. I
yes jonathan you're right.
What a big disappointment.
most errors were not corrected.

I am completely disappointed with apple.
