Billy,
So, according to the files you sent me, before the database can be
created, it is throwing a -7017, or a User not allowed error.
The output of your dbmsrv file matches pretty much exactly what it
should be, so in my mind that rules out some sort of protocol
incompatibility.

Hi Sven,
We are runing all 7.5.0.8 on our systms and I've been seeing similar problems. what
is also odd is that the 'rejected bad connect packet'
sounds aweful similar to an error I was seeing with DBMCLI / SQLCLI - and these don't
even use the ODBC?
In production we have: Win2k 7.5.0.8 odb

case 1: no you do not have to but it would be good to support the cause.
case 2: you distributed the software to company X therefore you conducted a
commercial transaction and must purchase a license.
This is my understanding of how it works after talking with someone from
MySQL.

Could you send me your dbm.utl file? It's located at:

likely: C:\Program Files\sdb\data\wrk\\dbm.utl )

This statement led me to believe "connection" = a user task.

I'm logged in as a local machine administrator & a domain administrator.
Is there some security on a service (ie: XServer) that I need to change to
have a login as instead of it using the default account (localsystem).
Would this security affect the command line utility dbmcli as well?

Not to be too obvious, but how are you starting the installation wizard?
I just tried to replicate your problem by logging on as a

Here is the file. I included knltrace, and knldiag as well. I reviewed the
files previously and couldn't see anything that jumps out at me. Sorry I
had to zip the files, they were too big to just send.

Good Afternoon,
There should exist the 'knldiag.err' file (see
http://sapdb.2scale.net/moin.cgi/knldiag) after the
error happens, containing more information. You might look into it whether you see
something
suspicious, or post the errors to the list to get help ...

Have a look in the knldiag/knldiag.err file and see if you can figure out
what's going wrong (or post it here).

Hello!
i have build a webapp using turbine/torque a few weeks ago and have had
similar problems. what i have found is, that torque isn't able to create
the correct sql statements for sapDB/MaxDB. you can verify this by
looking into the torque.jar and read the velocity templates torque uses

Hello Viktor,
as for other databases like Oracle or MS-SQL, you cannot create a database from within
Torque, as it this action is not done from SQL, but by using the dbmcli or the dbmgui
program. You so may it do somewhat similar to the MS-SQL/Oracle guidelines found at
the Torque web site - by m
